Information We Gather

At Inquiry Classroom, we collect specific datasets to ensure we can provide high-quality educational services and valid certifications. This primarily includes “Identity Data” such as your legal name for certificate issuance, your professional email address for communication, and your WhatsApp contact details for our community groups. We also gather “Institutional Data” which includes your school name, current teaching designation, and regional curriculum focus to personalize the resources we recommend to you.

Additionally, our platform automatically records “Technical Usage Data” through your interaction with our site. This encompasses your network IP address, device identifiers, and timestamps of when you access specific UOI resources or webinar recordings. We use this data to verify legitimate access to restricted content and to improve the speed and responsiveness of our digital classroom for educators worldwide.

Use of Your Information

The primary reason we process your data is to fulfill our educational service commitments. This involves setting up your member profile, facilitating the download of inquiry-based posters and templates, and verifying your participation in live workshops. We act as a “Data Fiduciary” under Indian law, meaning we only use your data for the purposes you have consented to, such as sending you alerts for upcoming PYP webinars or notifying you of new “Shorts” in our video library.

  • Service Authentication: We use your login credentials to secure your purchases and prevent unauthorized access to premium educator content.
  • Credential Verification: Your identity is used to generate unique certificate IDs that schools can verify through our authenticity portal.
  • Community Connection: We utilize your contact information to integrate you into our global WhatsApp groups, allowing for peer-to-peer inquiry sharing.

Data Sharing Protocols

We maintain a strict policy against the sale of personal information to third-party marketers. Sharing only occurs with “Data Processors” who are essential to our operational ecosystem. This includes secure payment gateways like Razorpay or Stripe for processing resource acquisitions, and cloud hosting providers who ensure your digital portfolio is accessible 24/7 across different time zones.

In certain legal scenarios, we may be required to disclose information to Indian regulatory bodies or law enforcement agencies to comply with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act (2023) or other statutory mandates. Such disclosures are made only under a valid legal order and are limited to the specific data requested to protect our educator community’s broader privacy interests.

Portfolios & Teacher Content

Teachers who utilize our portfolio tools retain full intellectual ownership of the creative materials they upload. Our platform serves as a secure vault for these reflections, evidence samples, and unit planners. While we host this content, Inquiry Classroom does not claim any rights to your pedagogical work, and your uploads are kept strictly private unless you choose to export or share them with colleagues via our community features.

It is the responsibility of the educator to ensure that any student-related data included in their portfolios (such as photographs or names) is handled in accordance with their specific school’s child protection policies. We recommend blurring student faces or using pseudonyms to maintain the highest standard of minor safety within the digital educator space.

Tracking & Cookies

Our website employs small text files known as cookies to differentiate your browser from others and provide a persistent user experience. “Session Cookies” are utilized to keep you logged in as you navigate between our resource catalog and the webinar portal, while “Preference Cookies” remember your choice of theme (Light/Dark mode) and your recently viewed inquiry topics.

We also use third-party analytics tools to observe general traffic patterns. This helps us identify which IB PYP subjects are currently in high demand so we can develop more relevant resources. You have the right to disable non-essential cookies via your browser settings, though this may impact the functionality of specific interactive features on our platform.

Storage & Retention

We store your data for the duration of your active membership with Inquiry Classroom. For purchasers of “Lifetime Access” resources, we maintain your purchase record indefinitely to ensure you can always re-download your tools. However, for webinar recordings with restricted access, we purge specific viewing logs after the designated 6-hour window has expired to minimize unnecessary data footprint.

If you choose to deactivate your account, your personal identifiers are either deleted or anonymized within 90 days, unless we are required by Indian tax or corporate law to retain transaction records for a longer period. Once the legal retention requirement is met, the data is permanently erased from our primary and backup server systems.

Safety & Encryption

Data safety is paramount in our educational environment. We utilize Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption for all data in transit, ensuring that your login details and payment information cannot be intercepted by third parties. Our databases are hosted in ISO-certified data centers that employ multi-factor authentication and rigorous access controls to prevent unauthorized internal or external breaches.

In the unlikely event of a security compromise, we have an “Incident Response Plan” that includes notifying all affected users and the relevant authorities within 72 hours of discovery. We continuously audit our systems and update our security patches to defend against emerging digital threats in the educational technology sector.

Protection of Minors

Inquiry Classroom is a professional platform designed specifically for adult educators, administrators, and parents. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under the age of 18. If our systems detect that a minor has attempted to register an account, that account and all associated data will be immediately and irrevocably deleted from our database.

If you are a guardian and suspect that a minor has shared personal data with us without authorization, please reach out to our privacy lead. We are committed to maintaining a safe digital boundary between adult professional development and the privacy of children in the educational ecosystem.

Your Rights (DPDP Act)

As a “Data Principal” under India’s DPDP Act 2023, you have significant control over your personal information. You have the right to request a digital copy of all data we hold about you, the right to correct any inaccuracies in your professional profile, and the right to request the total erasure of your data if you no longer wish to use our services.

You also have the right of “Grievance Redressal,” which allows you to raise concerns directly with our Grievance Officer if you feel your data is not being handled according to this policy. We aim to acknowledge and resolve all such requests within 30 days of receipt, ensuring a transparent and fair relationship with our members.

Platform Ethics

To preserve the integrity of our certifications and the quality of our community, we monitor for unethical platform behavior. This includes “Credential Harvesting” or the use of automated bots to download bulk resources. We also monitor for “Account Farming,” where a single paid subscription is shared across an entire institution without a valid bulk license.

Any user found engaging in these prohibited activities may have their data access restricted and their certificates revoked. We believe that protecting our intellectual property and the effort put in by our curriculum designers is essential to maintaining a high-standard learning environment for all honest educators.

Policy Modifications

The landscape of data privacy is constantly evolving, particularly with new regulations in the Indian ed-tech space. We reserve the right to modify this charter at any time to stay compliant with new legal standards. When material changes are made, we will provide a notice on our dashboard and update the “Revised Date” at the top of this document.

By continuing to use Inquiry Classroom after such updates, you are acknowledging your consensus with the revised terms. We encourage our members to review this policy once a quarter to stay informed about how we are safeguarding their professional data.

Privacy Contact

For all inquiries related to your personal data or to exercise your legal rights as a Data Principal, please contact our designated Privacy Governance Team. We are dedicated to ensuring that your experience with Inquiry Classroom is both educational and secure.
